Easter!

Hi all! Well, it's been a while, but here is a little thing I made the other day.  I call him the "Josh Bunny". It's for my 2 year old nephew Joshua.

I'm currently in the middle of making 6 costumes for dancers, but here is a sneak preview of the costume...

It's based on a retro 1950 - 1960 boy leg swimming costume. The skirt is 3 "petals" gathered and worn as a belt. Now picture it all in green!
The pattern is actually 3 patterns in one. I got a little creative, but like what I came up with. :D
More later.

lion

Strangely enough, this is my fave acrylic painting. It looks nothing like the original photo, but it facinates me.

Hi all,

Hand Puppets

Well, it's been while, but when you are busy time just flies. :/ My world is a little turned around at the moment. I quit my job of 8 years 2 weeks ago and haven't felt this good in ages. :) I'm sewing lots, and generally feeling less stressful. I've been applying for work, but it's exhausting - and due to my level of experience, it's not an instant thing when finding out how things have gone. *sigh* Anyway, the video below is a Youtube video that I uploaded. :) They are 2 soft scultpure puppets that I made in 3 days for a show last night. I think it went down well. I'm very happy with the puppets and now have a burning desire to make more! Go watch the video, and watch this space for more videos.. Now that I've found my video camera again! LOL

Beta Wingull!

Well, it's official, I'm sick and tired of trying to get this to look "good", so I'm releasing it now. You know how it is, when you stare at something for so long, it aint never gonna look right. LOL Sooo...... Ta da! Download it from here! http://www.pcgirl.com.au/wingull278.pdo (You may need to do a save as command) If anyone happens to build it, please send me a photo at mandy the pcgirl @ gmail . com (remove all the gaps for the real email.) Have fun building!

My first generated papercraft

I did one. :)  Finally!

My daughter is currently making it up from a print out, so as of this post, it's beta.

click here to download a pdf of the file.

If you do make this, please send me photos.. Recolours are welcome. I'll even send you the PDO file if you request it to recolour.

Just a quick update on the kitten that adopted with us. She's found a new home and my two existing cats are so much more relaxed.  I was having major problems with one of the older cats, as she was wetting herself, fighting and running away for up to 4 days a time. But all is peaceful again in the laundry at night. :)

More upsizing! Does she stop......

Awwwwwwwwwww.... Isn't he cute... He's the first thing I've made that I upsized to fill an A3 sheet on my new printer. :)
Very easy to make and lots of fun at double size. Soooo much easier to do. Next is tomb raider at 1 metre... yeah, I'm gonna do it! I warn you... mwaaa ha ha ha ha

King size!

Hi all. Well, here are the promised pictures of the St Bernard finished. I know, I took for ever - but at least I actually finished one! LOL

Front on. With my dogs. I had to throw food out to make them go near it! LOL The one in front is Angel - the mother of the other. She's a cross Blue Healer/Lab.

The kitten who made herself at home at our place coming to check out this monster that smells funny.. XD

My 3 legged dog

Well, it's got 3 legs and is standing (sort of) on it's own. :)

Instead of collapsing inwards, it's all staying put. Though the front legs have a tendancy to drift inwards. I'll fix that up before I put the final leg on... which I'm not looking forward to! I'll also pop out the bits that have been accidently pushed in when I was fighting with it to put bit ons.

There is a ruler in the picture for height comparison. The ruler is a 60cm ruler.  And when I look at the dog, it's actually the same size as our blue healer. :)

I had glue up to my elbows.. literally! I ended up slathering it on, with my arm up the elbow when I was putting the belly on. LOL  Lots of fun. :)

Oh, and for those that wish to know - I used Adobe Acrobat to print it out as a poster print, at 390%. So each page was actually made up of 4 x 4 pages (16 pages). Most of my time was putting those pages together.

My next project at a large size, will be the tiger from Canon. But I'll use cardboard instead, so that she/he doesn't collapse. It might make it easier to put together too.

Upsizing paper models

It's been a while since I posted anything, but sometimes real life gets in the way of fun. :P  Anyway, my latest project is to upsize a dog from the Canon web site.  The photos show my husband wearing the St Bernard's head that I've so far managed to get together. it was fun trying to cut out the parts on my little table, and not knock over the glue pot!  The other fun part, was gluing the parts together from upsizing.  This dog should end up very large - very close the real thing, I think, if the author of the pattern has kept it in proportion.  My biggest problem isn't going to be how to support it to stop it collapsing... It's finding a place for it to live once I finish it....

Current projects

Well, I finished Ray's Bates House. I'm pretty happy with it. I'll never be an expert at this paper craft stuff, but it looks good. :D The carousel is taking forever! There are heaps of horses, but they take so long to cut out. Isn't it cute. LOL I didn't know this was on the canon site.. he's georgeous and I am going to give it to my cat loving sister. :)

Bates House is finished!

I haven't taken a photo yet, as the glue is still wet. LOL But tomorrow, I'll post a piccy of it. My best acheivement ever! The roof was hard, as my daughter helped me out and bent the tabs on the walls... little did I know it would cause me problems. I really should learn to read the instructions **first**. XD So, when i tried to have them straight up, they bent.. . Did it though.

Didn't quit after all.

I decided to stay with the group. 99.9% of them are wonderful. 0.1% are ranters. But I like the attitude of most of them.  They make me laugh and worth staying for.

I'm a step closer to putting something up for downloading. I've downloaded a demo of some 3d software to play with. This one allows you to take photos and make a mesh model of them. I've just got to set up the camera and away I go. If anyone knows of a free or really cheap version of something like this, I'd love to hear from you. :)

I'm also going to try out David-Laser Scanner. They have a freeware version that allows you to test out part of the software, but also allows you to use the software for small things. I don't like the way it's reduces the output and it seems like it can be a lot of hard work, but it's worth having a look at.  http://www.david-laserscanner.com/

Later tonight I'll update the blog to show some photos of my current WIP. It's one of the house from the Haunted Mansion collection. I've got some electrical candle lights which I'm going to put inside the house...  Watch this space  - It's called Liberty Square!  Had to go look.  LOL  Thanks to Ray Keim!! Wonderful work. :D

And finally, the Haunted Dimensions is putting out a Bates Hotel soon!  I can't wait. I think this was one of the first horrors I ever saw.

Oooo, ooo, oooo... it's out!!
